The highest recorded temperature in South Africa was in Dunbrody during November 3, 1918. This was in the Sunday River Valley in the Eastern Cape. The temperature was 50 degree Celsius. The coldest place in Africa is Buffelsfontein with an average of 11.3 degrees Celsius and an annual average being 2.8 degrees Celsius. The coldest temperature was also recorded in Buffelsfontein, in June 28, 1996. It was below zero Celsius, -18.6 Celsius. Due South Africa’s location and different climate ranges, their summer is between Mid-October to mid-February, Autumn is between mid-February to April, Winter is from May to July and Spring is from August to mid-October. The summers are hot and sunny with afternoon thunderstorms that happen often. The fall considered that best season with warm days that are just perfect to spend outdoors during that nights. The Winter brings sunny crisp days and cold nights. Drakensberg usually gets snow where people can go skiing. Spring is considered the most beautiful season with flowers blooming everywhere. Many South Africans travel to the Namaqualand to see the carpet of flowers. This climate created a thing and moderately fertile soil.
